Looking Ahead 2004 TO 2006

R.U.S.H.Haven Inc’s intentions for the future are as follows:

• A weekend or two day midweek program per month offering Dolphin Therapy, life skills and adventure training.
• Extended five day programming for young people ready for an extra challenge.
• Community development programming working with community members (business and civic leaders, police, service clubs, schools, parents, sporting and community groups and the like) to assist them to develop programs that seek to address issues identified as problems for young people in their community.
• Day activities like sailing / dolphin interactions, bush walking, Art and learning workshops like bush care, marine mammal and native animal rescue.
• R.U.S.H. will gain access to a designated ‘home’, a property where R.U.S.H. can continue to grow and help young people, their families and communities.
• R.U.S.H. plans to develop a centre for young people to explore, challenge and grow through specifically developed individualised and group programs.
• R.U.S.H. will continue to run existing programs and create new programs as above, aiming to empower and up-skill young people to help other young people.
• R.U.S.H. aims to explore strategic network partnerships, growing and sharing our unique programs with as many as possible.
• R.U.S.H. aims to provide programs to enhance the relationship between young people and their families strengthening the bonds of both family and community.
• R.U.S.H. aims to work with existing organizations who provide valuable assistance in co-creating extraordinary programs that are professional and worthwhile producing specific measurable results.
• R.U.S.H. aims to be able to provide intensive programs  for the long term.
• R.U.S.H. aims to continue developing as a professional and respected organisation working with young people and communities.

RUSH Haven Property In The Hunter Valley / Port Stephens is a Long Term Goal!

The current child-welfare system is obviously flawed, operating to the detriment of tens of thousands of children. Foster care, intended as a temporary solution, has turned into inadequate permanent care. While adoption is a solution for some children, many children are difficult to place or legally unavailable for permanent placement. Many now contend that residential stays are a reliable solution for a lot of the nation's disadvantaged and abused children.

R.U.S.H. Inc’s ultimate long-term goal is to own a environmentally friendly acreage property and building set in an idyllic peaceful location in the   Hunter Valley or Port Stephens.

The property would become a temporary residence for assessment and treatment of children in acute crisis situations. Providing education and facilities to ensure consistent outcomes are achieved and a permanent place to run and access our range of programs.
