R.U.S.H. Haven Inc’s principal aim is the relief of distress, misfortune or helplessness amongst marginalised young people.
- R.U.S.H. will fulfill its principal aim through the application of healing and experiential based activities specifically designed to develop self-awareness, healing, self-esteem, team building skills, living and vocational skills of young people.
- To have long-term, positive change in the health, attitudes and skills of youth involved in R.U.S.H programs that are both demonstrable, specific and measurable.
- To make R.U.S.H programs, in the short term available in the Hunter, State Wide to Youth Support Schemes and Agencies; and in the long term Australia-Wide.
- To offer a range of two day monthly run complimentary therapy programs such as Dolphin Assisted Therapy and long term recreational, environmental, artistic, cultural, musically and creative programs consistent with the fulfillment of our aims and that are in direct relationship to the needs of our clients.
- To have R.U.S.H be financially self-sufficient through appropriate fund-raising, strategic network partnerships and sponsorship in order to fulfill its aims.
- To apply sound complimentary therapy techniques, professional psychological and behavioral change management techniques were appropriate. R.U.S.H. Inc programs aim to alleviate health issues, social alienation by empowering young people to change negative cycles and behaviors, assist their own healing and develop skills to facilitate integration into the community.
No young person in need of relief from distress, health issues, misfortune or helplessness will be prevented from participating in R.U.S.H. Inc’s activities. This commitment includes young people from all spheres and backgrounds including those who demonstrate challenging or serious health issues, depression, disabilities, addictive behaviours, drug and alcohol, gambling and associated dual diagnoses with mental health and substance abuse, unemployed youth, homeless youth, young offenders, Aboriginal and Torres Strait islander young people, young people of culturally and linguistically diverse backgrounds and young people with a disability.
